The Most Holy Metropolitan of Ptolemaid, Palladios (in the world Vasilios) Antoniou, was born in 1935 in Amaliada of Helias in the Pelloponese. He came to Jerusalem in 1955.
He graduated from the Patriarchal School. He was tonsured Monk and anointed Deacon in 1957. He studied the Sacred Science at the Theological School of Halki. |

He was anointed Priest in 1964 and was advanced to Archimandrite in 1965. In 1968 he was sent to England for further studies and to learn the English language and in 1972 he was nominated Member of the holy and Sacred Synod.
He served as Secretary at the Patriarchal Offices and was member of the Educational Board of the Schools in Jerusalem and on May 23, 1975, he was appointed Exarch of the Most Holy Sepulchre in Greece.
In October 1976 he was elected and anointed Archbishop of Jordan. He served as President of the Ecclesiastic Judicial Court and on the 28th April 1981 he was nominated Patriarchal Representative to Bethlehem. In 1983 he was appointed President of the Ecclesiastic Court of Appeals. In 1985 he was appointed member of the Selection Council. In 1998 he was named Metropolitan of Ptolemaid.
He took part as member of the Patriarchal Delegation to the 4th Congress of the World Council of Churches in Uppsala. |
