He studied at the Law School of the University of Athens. On August 26, 1976 he was appointed member of the Economic Committee and member of the Board of Education. On February 7^th 1978 he was appointed President of the Ecclesiastic Judicial Court at Joppa. In February 1981 he was appointed Patriarchal Representative to Akra.

On March 16 1984 he was elected Bishop of Abelon and anointed on March 26^th of the same year, and was then nominated Patriarchal Representative to Irbet of Jordan. In 1991 he was elected Archbishop of Capitoliad. In 1994 he was named Metropolitan and was appointed Vice-President of the Economic Committee and President of the Estate Committee. In 2001 he was appointed Member of the Holy and Sacred Synod, President of the Jerusalem School Board and President of the Printing Office and Information. In 2003 he was nominated Patriarchal Commissioner.

In 2005 he was appointed Legal Counsel to the Patriarchate.

In 2009 he was appointed President of the Schools of the Patriarchate.
