ΣΥΝΑΝΤΗΣΙΣ ΕΚΠΡΟΣΩΠΩΝ ΕΥΡΩΠΑΪΚΩΝ ΚΡΑΤΩΝ ΕΙΣ ΤΟ ΠΑΤΡΙΑΡΧΕΙΟΝ
Τήν 11ην π.μ. ὥραν τῆς Παρασκευῆς, 5ης/18ης Νοεμβρίου 2022, Ἀποστολή διπλωματικῶν ἀντιπροσώπων πεντήκοντα περίπου Εὐρωπαϊκῶν χωρῶν ἐπεσκέφθη τό Πατριαρχεῖον καί συνητήθη μετ’ ἐκπροσώπων τῶν τοπικῶν Χριστιανικῶν Ἐκκλησιῶν τῶν Ἱεροσολύμων διά θέματα ἀφορῶντα τούς Χριστιανούς τῆς Ἁγίας Γῆς.
Τούς διακεκριμμένους διπλωμάτας τούτους, ἐν οἷς καί ὁ Γενικός Πρόξενος τῆς Ἑλλάδος εἰς τά Ἱεροσόλυμα κ. Βλιώρας, ὁ Πρόξενος τῆς Σουηδίας, ὁ Πρόξενος τῆς Γαλλίας, ἡ Πρόξενος τῆς Ἀγγλίας κ.ἄ προσεφώνησεν ἡ Α.Θ.Μ. ὁ Πατήρ ἡμῶν καί Πατριάρχης Ἱεροσολύμων κ.κ. Θεόφιλος διά τῆς κάτωθι προσφωνήσεως αὐτοῦ ἀγγλιστί:

Your Excellencies, Respected Members of the Diplomatic Corps,
Your Eminences,
Your Graces,
We welcome you to this gathering at the Patriarchate, and we wish once again to express our deep appreciation to you for the unfailing attention chat you give to our concerns and challenges here.
As you are fully aware, essential to our mission as the Churches and Christian Communities of the Holy Land is to ensure the Christian character of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The responsibility of serving and stewarding our properties and the Holy Places has been laid on our shoulders, and we take this responsibility most seriously. As we are more and more the target of radical groups in our society, we rely on the help and support of diplomatic, government, and Church agencies to help us in this mission.
It Is of vital importance to maintain the historic Status Quo. The Status Quo is the principal historic guarantee, acknowledged by all, that ensures the well-being of the Churches and the Christian communities of the Holy Land. The Status Quo also guarantees the protection of the Holy Places that are the common heritage of the three Abrahamic faiths.
So, we are grateful for your presence here, and we welcome this conversation.
We would now like to invite our colleagues among the bishops to say a few words.
Ἕκαστος δέ Ἀρχηγός Ἐκκλησίας ἤ ἐκπρόσωπος Ἀρχηγοῦ Ἐκκλησίας προσεφώνησε εὐχαριστῶν διά τήν συνάντησιν καί ἐνημέρωσε περί τῶν προβλημάτων, τά ὁποῖα ἀντιμετωπίζουν οἱ Χριστιανοί.
Ἐπί τῶν προβλημάτων τούτων ὡμίλησεν καί ὁ κ. Austin Tiffany τοῦ Ἱδρύματος ICHΟS.
Ἐν συνεχείᾳ εἰς τούς διπλωματικούς ἀντιπροσώπους τούτους παρετέθη γεῦμα ὑπό τοῦ Πατριάρχου καί τῶν Tοπικῶν Ἐκκλησιῶν εἰς τό παρά τήν Πύλην τοῦ Δαυΐδ ξενοδοχεῖον Ιmperial, μετά δέ τό γεῦμα τοῦτο οὗτοι περιώδευσαν τόν λόφον τῆς Ἁγίας Σιών, ἔνθα ἔλαβε χώραν ὁ Μυστικός Δεῖπνος, ἡ Πεντηκοστή καί ἔνθα στεγάζεται ἡ Πατριαρχική Σχολή καί τά Κοιμητήρια τῶν Χριστιανικῶν Κοινοτήτων ἀπό 13ου αἰῶνος καί ἐνημερώθησαν περί τῶν ἐπιθέσεων τῶν ἀκραίων στοιχείων εἰς τούς Ἱερούς Τόπους τούτους.
Ὁ Μακαριώτατος ἐπεσφράγισε τήν συνάντησιν, λέγων ὅτι οἱ Χριστιανοί δέν ἀποθαρρυνόμεθα ἀπό τάς προκλήσεις τῶν ἀκραίων στοιχείων, καθ’ ὅτι ὁ Ναός τῆς Ἀναστάσεως ἀποτελεῖ τήν βεβαιοτέραν καί σταθεροτέραν ἐγγύησιν σταθερότητος τῆς διατηρήσεως τοῦ Καθεστῶτος (Status Quo) τῶν Ἱεροσολύμων.
